Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce Officially Recognized as an Alberta's Promise Partner

Alberta's Promise was introduced into the Legislature in 2003 by Premier Ralph Klein.   It is the only Promise Initiative in North America that is legislated.  The initiative recognizes and celebrates the great work that the Alberta's Promise partners are doing for children and youth in Alberta.

In the fall of 2005,  Alberta's Promise recognized the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce as an official partner, at a red wagon ceremony in Calgary.  Dennis Chinner, 2005 President of the Chamber, was presented a red wagon, the symbol for Alberta's Promise, by Premier Klein, Mrs. Klein and Minister Forsythe.  The Lethbridge Chamber was recognized for its "Adopting a Citizen of Tomorrow" program which partners businesses with schools, to recognize selected students each month for:  positive attitude, good attendance, acts of citizenship and partnership with Alberta's Promise and best effort (most improved).

The Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce was the first Chamber in Alberta to become an official partner of Alberta's Promise.
